Position Overview: As a key managerial figure, you will oversee a diverse team dedicated to the advancement of Naval Shipboard Fiber Optics. Your role encompasses a wide array of supervisory responsibilities, including resource allocation, financial oversight, performance assessments, and addressing personnel matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to a branch-sized team of professionals in scientific, engineering, technical, and administrative roles.
- Ensure the quality, timeliness, and fiscal responsibility of all branch outputs and commitments.
- Maintain a robust technical foundation within the branch, including leading projects and mentoring other project leaders.
- Manage and enhance existing product lines while identifying new opportunities aligned with the organization's mission.
- Support long-term strategic planning for the technical sustainability of the organization.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area is required within established timeframes.
Qualifications: This position is interdisciplinary and may be filled by various professionals including General Engineers, Physical Scientists, Operations Research Analysts, Mathematicians, or Computer Scientists, depending on the candidate's qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the ND-4 pay band in the Federal service or comparable experience in the private sector.
Education: Candidates must meet specific educational qualifications as outlined by the Office of Personnel Management, including degrees in engineering, physical science, operations research, mathematics, or computer science.
