We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Heart and Vascular Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality ECHO and/or Vascular images.
Responsibilities- Perform quality and efficient ultrasound exams to assist with patient diagnostic work-ups
- Follow routine protocols and/or physician-specific prescriptions to ensure accurate and high-quality images
- Provide accurate and compassionate patient care to ensure service excellence, patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction
- Perform various record-keeping tasks to ensure department goals are met, medical record documentation accuracy, and daily operations run smoothly and efficiently
- Participate in various learning opportunities to further personal knowledge/skills and assist with teaching or training others
We require a minimum of an associate degree and one of the following:
- Graduate of an accredited (CAAHEP) School of Diagnostic Sonography
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program with an additional requirement of 12 months of full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography instruction
Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry-level standards of routine HVC imaging are also required. Additionally, we require Cardiac Sonographer: RDCS (ARDMS) /RCS (CCI) in echocardiography certification, Vascular Sonographer: RVT is required for vascular ultrasound, and BLS certification (obtained within 3 months of hire).
Physical DemandsThe successful candidate must be able to lift (patient transfers) and push 40 lbs. (portable US equipment). Requires extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Moving equipment, ultrasound machine, and scanning bed to accommodate demand for different types of ultrasound tests. Assumes awkward body positioning at times.
