Job Overview

Under the guidance of supervisory staff, the Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within designated areas of the facility. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to regulations set forth by relevant health authorities.


Key Responsibilities

The following outlines the primary duties expected of the Environmental Services Associate:

  1. Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, which includes tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, bed maintenance, and the proper disposal of waste.
  2. Maintain cleanliness in discharge areas, medical wards, utility spaces, kitchens, treatment rooms, operating theaters, offices, supply rooms, and restrooms, following established infection control protocols.
  3. Ensure isolation rooms are cleaned and disinfected in accordance with hospital policies.
  4. Perform general cleaning duties in public spaces, including hallways, offices, elevators, and stairwells.
  5. Comply with all departmental sanitation standards and procedures.

Qualifications

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.


Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Proficiency in using electronic devices such as pagers and radios relevant to housekeeping tasks.
