The Opportunity

This position is ideal for individuals eager to leverage their sports expertise. You will collaborate closely with event organizers, athletes, and our internal team to ensure the delivery of top-tier tournaments.

This is a full-time role based in the United States, requiring travel that may extend over consecutive weeks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Proficient understanding of a wide range of medical conditions affecting athletes aged 16-30 in good physical health. Tennis-specific experience is preferred.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with experience collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on injury tracking and documentation.
- Effective communication skills in high-pressure situations when interacting with patients, medical professionals, staff, and families.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses both on and off the court, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
- Assess injury risks, conduct ergonomic evaluations, implement self-care strategies, and promote overall wellness.
- Document all patient interactions.
- Coordinate and implement injury prevention strategies and programs for each athlete during tournament weeks.
- Minimize injury risks through awareness and prevention strategies on match days.
- Communicate with referees and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes and, if necessary, the doctor on call.
- Deliver medical care for athletes following best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Review and follow up on Medical Certificates across events.
- Recruit and train contracted Athletic Training Staff across events.
- Ensure staff maintain all necessary certifications and licenses, oversee supply ordering and budget management.
- Develop Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and policy manuals related to Athletic Training staff.

Patient Management:
- Typically responsible for an average of 20 athletes per week during tournaments.

Travel Requirements:
- This position is based in California, with travel requirements of approximately 25-35% of the time. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential.

Compensation:
- The estimated base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000.

The final salary will consider various factors, including skills, experience, training, and organizational needs.


Qualifications:

- Years of Experience: 2-5 years

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine

- Licenses: Must possess a California state athletic training license, CPR, and First Aid certification.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (AT_BOC) and BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
