Position Overview
Langan is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Intern or Co-op to support our dynamic team. This role is essential in assisting with various Traffic/Transportation projects. You will gain exposure to key areas such as transportation impact assessments, parking evaluations, traffic management for large venues, comprehensive transportation planning, and traffic signal design. Responsibilities may include fieldwork, technical report drafting, calculations, graphic preparation, data collection, and collaboration with the Site/Civil group as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct traffic observations;
- Draft technical reports, calculations, design plans, and specifications for traffic/transportation initiatives, including transportation impact assessments, highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, and pedestrian circulation plans;
- Monitor construction activities;
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
- Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning;
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher;
- Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is advantageous;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or SoftDesk civil software is a plus;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license in good standing.
