- Reviews patient studies for precision, ensuring proper coding and billing.

- Addresses patient care issues and alerts the radiologist upon discovering significant pathological findings.

- Engages in quality assurance for technical equipment and collaborates with relevant parties to rectify image quality concerns.

- Communicates in a professional, effective, and timely manner with all healthcare providers, patients, and visitors. Utilizes communication tools responsibly (e.g., whiteboards, paging systems, telephones, email, fax).

- Maintains technical accuracy: imaging studies are conducted correctly, minimizing error rates to acceptable levels.

- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all routine section-specific protocols and can perform specialized procedures with minimal assistance.

- Accurately inputs data into various systems, including PACS, equipment systems, electronic medical records, and other computer applications.

Patient Care and Safety

- Guarantees that all patients receive care in a secure environment, free from hazards, with full attention given to the patient and the procedure.

- Demonstrates awareness of Age-Specific Criteria while executing job responsibilities.

- Utilizes critical thinking to resolve patient care concerns or issues, implementing effective solutions and notifying supervisors when necessary.

- Correctly identifies patients using approved identifiers.

- Implements safety and fall prevention measures, communicating effectively with team members. Recognizes signs of patient distress and initiates emergency protocols as needed.

- Administers contrast agents properly, adhering to sterile techniques where applicable. Reviews patient medications and allergies, following the five rights of medication administration.

- Ensures workspaces and equipment are safe, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, including emergency items.

- Protects patients from ionizing radiation by adhering to ALARA and Image Gently safety guidelines, providing lead shielding when appropriate, and monitoring technical scanning parameters.

Service, Productivity, and Efficiency

- Upholds a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times, interacting respectfully with patients, visitors, staff, and faculty.

- Maintains elevated productivity levels and actively seeks opportunities to enhance overall patient care activities within the department.

- Effectively manages patient flow to minimize delays, utilizing critical thinking to assess and implement solutions efficiently.

- Completes all assigned duties and conducts thorough verbal hand-off communication at the end of each shift.

- In the event of system failures, follows downtime procedures and promptly reports to supervisors for reassignment of tasks.

- Communicates all equipment malfunctions to the DI Engineering Team, supervisor, and manager with relevant information readily available.

- Performs any additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.

Certification: Must possess the following:

ARRT Registry eligibility in Computed Tomography (CT).

Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT).

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Preferred Certification: Registered CT Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Experience: Minimum of one year as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiologic Technologist. No experience required with preferred education.

Preferred Experience: None.

Onsite Presence: Required.
