Reports to: Program Director and Senior Counselor
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, may include weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum credential of a CADC; LADC preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions - including their characteristics, assessment, and treatment.
  • Proficient in conducting assessments and completing detailed documentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits maturity and professionalism with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals in recovery.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, email, and internet navigation.
  • Access to reliable transportation.

Wellspring implements the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed organizational change framework for client treatment. This model fosters a shared language among leaders, staff, clients, and families, ensuring a cohesive approach to care. Residential Care Assistants play a crucial role in supporting clients through empathetic, trauma-informed interactions utilizing the Sanctuary framework.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
  • Deliver comprehensive services to clients through competencies in the 12 core functions and Sanctuary Model.
  • Maintain a therapeutic approach that is empathetic, respectful, and motivational, encouraging clients to take ownership of their recovery journey.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues as an integral part of the treatment team.
  • Uphold high professional and ethical standards.
  • Serve as a positive role model, offering guidance and support to clients.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Sanctuary Model through the application of its Four Pillars and Seven Commitments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Screening: Conduct intake and assessments for detox program candidates.
  • Intake: Perform initial assessments and complete necessary documentation upon admission.
  • Orientation: Explain the detox program and treatment options to new clients.
  • Assessment: Collect and analyze data from clients and other sources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, prioritizing issues, goals, and methods.
  • Counseling: Provide individual, family, and group counseling sessions.
  • Education: Offer information to clients and their families regarding substance use, co-occurring disorders, treatment options, recovery, and available resources.
  • Crisis Management: Address client needs during crises or emergencies, including after-hours on-call support.
  • Case Management: Coordinate with clients and resources to focus on identified needs and objectives.
  • Referral: Identify client needs that cannot be met within Wellspring and assist clients in accessing community resources and support systems.
  • Consultation: Collaborate with professionals regarding client treatment and services to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and current counseling records.
  • Group Facilitation: Foster a group atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation.
  • Safety Monitoring: Ensure the safety and security of clients and the facility.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold client confidentiality and adhere to high ethical and professional standards.

  • Participate in individual and group supervision, case reviews, and clinical staff meetings.
  • Report to work punctually and submit accurate online timecards to the program director.
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements to maintain professional licenses relevant to the position, including ongoing education in the Sanctuary Model of Care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the program, clinical, or executive director.
