Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Amcor Rigid Packaging Kenosha/Franklin/Napolean. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment, ensuring high-quality output and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Safely operate and maintain packaging equipment, including palletizers, strapping machines, and wrapping machines, to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for quality defects and have authority to stop production due to quality issues, including raw materials.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and reporting daily on Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, performing daily safety and operational checks.
  • Material Handling: Transport finished products from production to warehouse, unload, move, and store incoming materials, and check identification, reporting shortages or damaged materials.
  • Reporting and Communication: Accurately record production information, communicate with production coordinators and management, and report daily production scrap in computer programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with some post-secondary education preferred (technical or vocational education).
  • Previous Work Experience: Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to pass forklift skills test, recognize and understand numbers and values, accurately enter data into online databases, and make priority decisions and independent judgment calls.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Forklift licensed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Packaging Experience: Proficient in packaging experience, machine setups for production runs, and operation of palletizers and forklifts.
Working Conditions

This is a production environment with regular exposure to machinery, noise, and physical demands. The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts and required overtime.
