Job Summary

The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical staff credentialing and privileging processes. This position is responsible for verifying the credentials of medical staff and advanced practice providers, ensuring compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process initial applications and reappointment applications for medical staff and advanced practice providers
  • Perform credentialing verifications and monitor expirables (licensure, DEA, insurance, certifications)
  • Maintain assigned practitioner data in medical staff credentialing software and EPIC systems
  • Support other Medical Staff Services responsibilities and activities as requested
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school or equivalent education
  • At least one year of experience in credentialing
  • CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) certification required within two years of eligibility
