Job Summary

Crouse Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, providing individualized care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient goals.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, lab results, and other data to identify potential complications and take proactive measures to prevent adverse events.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and address concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing degree program.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Minimum of one year of recent Adult Med/Surg or Adult ICU experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within two weeks after hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one year of the hire date, if deemed necessary for the position based on the scope of the assigned role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in a specialty area.
