Position Overview:
As a Supply Chain Optimization Engineer, you will spearhead the analysis and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing material flow and storage strategies utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Improving part flow with suppliers and logistics partners to optimize cycle times and minimize costs.
- Establishing and communicating material flow specifications while addressing internal and external challenges.
- Developing KPIs to monitor and enhance material flow from suppliers to production and customers.
- Supporting the application of Lean Manufacturing practices and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Leading logistics ramp-ups for new program launches.
- Conducting logistics cost calculations and time studies.
- Traveling up to 15% for both domestic and international engagements.
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics engineering or planning within the automotive sector.
- Experience in creating tools for monitoring supply chain performance, including database management and freight optimization.
- Proficiency in comparative analysis of KPIs and reporting structures to enhance logistics systems.
- Expertise in logistics engineering solution design, including ERP model development.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP system functionalities.
Additional Skills:
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Experience in creating manufacturing facility layouts in compliance with industry standards.
- Familiarity with IATF16949.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
