About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at PharMerica. As a Medical Records Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely entry of medical data into our computer system, facilitating the processing and delivery of edited documentation for our client facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of medical data into our computer system.
  • Maintain accurate updates and medical records documents for each specific facility.
  • Research and resolve issues related to illegible or unfamiliar terminology on handwritten sheets provided by facilities.
  • Verify and clarify any problems or inquiries with facility documentation requests.
  • Communicate with facilities nursing staff, Director of Nursing, and Administrator regarding corrections of medical data.
  • Utilize reference materials to improve skills and maintain confidentiality of employee and patient information.
  • Run medical records forms and reports containing facility, patient, and pharmaceutical information.
  • Assist consultant pharmacists by obtaining facility data from our system and informing them of department procedures.
  • Promote customer goodwill and enhance corporate image to support our corporate mission, values, and philosophy.
  • Conduct audits with facilities upon request using computerized data with facility data.
  • Observe and comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Zero to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Formal training as a Pharmacy Technician (educational program with medical focus) is desired.
  • Computer literacy (basic skills) is desired.
