Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' communication skills to identify communication disorders and develop recommendations for treatment.
  • Analyze and interpret information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
  • Coordinate meetings and processes to present evaluation results, develop treatment plans, and provide training to parents/students/staff.
  • Develop treatment plans, interventions, and educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to students to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders on student success.
  • Adapt intervention strategies based on student performance.
  • Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies to minimize the adverse educational impact of communication disorders.
  • Interpret medical reports and recommendations within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist's experience to provide information and ensure that intervention plans are appropriate.
  • Maintain files and records as required for reference and compliance.
  • Research resources and methods to determine the appropriate approach for addressing student needs.
  • Coordinate speech-language services with student services provided by other school personnel.
  • Adhere to established rules, regulations, laws, and appropriate ethical standards.
  • Communicate clearly and positively with all stakeholders.
  • Promote effective interpersonal relations with students.
  • Provide consultation to parents, teachers, and other appropriate school personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in an appropriate or related area.
  • Georgia Certification in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Experience in education is preferred.
