Job Title: Youth Development Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Professional to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing educational programming, ensuring the safety of program participants, and promoting a fun and inclusive environment for all ages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement educational programming in areas such as STEAM, mentoring, athletics, literacy, and activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants while in care.
  • Promote and stimulate membership in the Clubhouse through programs, services, and outreach activities.
  • Participate in monthly incentive programs that focus on literacy, STEM, Art, Mentoring, Athletics, and Social/Emotional Learning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers, tutors, and students to participate in an ongoing education improvement program.
  • Promote a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all ages.
  • Offer input regarding department programs, in partnership with the approval of Program Manager.
  • Observe and report any maintenance and operation concerns of the department's physical property, ensuring Club member safety at all times.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or general educational development certificate and 2500 hours of experience working with children.
  • An interest in a variety of youth programs, including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring, and recreation.
  • Proficient in Google Suite.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and perform fine fingered dexterity.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions such as air conditioning, heat, dust, fumes, noise, and close quarters.
Onboarding Process:
  • Must complete a health physical and TB test.
  • Three letters of reference are required upon hiring.
  • Clearances Act 33, Act 34, Act 151, and NSOR letter are required.
  • Mandated Reporter Certification within 45 days of hire.
  • 10 hours of DHS training (can be done virtually).
  • Attend CPR, Pediatric First Aid training within the first 90 days of hire.
