Key Responsibilities

The Sherwin-Williams Company is looking for a Senior Global Tax Analyst to become a part of the International Tax team. This role involves joining a group that is innovative and proactive in its approach. The International Tax team aims to remain ahead of global tax regulations and leverage tax technology to improve efficiency and automation. The Senior Global Tax Analyst will report to the Senior International Tax Manager and will be instrumental in the Company's tax compliance, research, planning, execution, and documentation efforts. Team members collaborate closely to ensure that everyone is supported and equipped with the necessary resources for professional development.

Position Duties:
  • Accountable for the precise preparation of the international components of the U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120, including Form 5471, Form 8858, Form 8865, and associated elections and supporting documents.
  • Support Tax management in the preparation and review of foreign aspects of the U.S. Tax Return, including Country-by-Country (Form 8975), International Boycott Report (Form 5713), and other compliance tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of the quarterly income tax provision related to the calculation of GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, etc.
  • Help prepare, analyze, and review the year-end income tax provision concerning international taxes for designated subsidiaries and various computations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of moderately complex tax planning strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Company and with external advisors as necessary to address tax-related matters.
  • Maintain a schedule of deadlines for international tax compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Prepare/Review VAT/Indirect Tax submissions specific to Canada and the Caribbean.
  • Prepare/Review Direct Tax submissions specific to Canada and the Caribbean.
  • Assist with payroll tax compliance in Canada and the Caribbean.
  • Support inquiries related to tax audits in Canada and the Caribbean.
  • Assist with Domestic Tax compliance as required.
Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education/Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax
Preferred:
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Tax, or Finance
  • CPA certification
Technical/Skill

Required:
  • Knowledge of international direct and indirect tax principles.
  • Stays informed about current tax developments and can articulate their impact on the company.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Ability to identify challenges and complete assigned tasks while managing competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Takes personal responsibility for assigned tasks and seeks opportunities to add value beyond the basic requirements.
  • Desire to learn about the Company and the Paint industry to provide valuable insights.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Tax/Accounting systems (CSC CorpTax, OneStream, Oracle GL Cloud).
Travel Requirements:
  • 10%
