About the Role:

The Clinical Neurophysiology Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the EEG department, including equipment and technical oversight. This position works with the Neurosurgeons and oversees epilepsy surgery cases, which includes programming EEGs for recording of intracranial electrodes; providing intraoperative EEG monitoring, and following these patients EEGs to completion.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Organize and oversee Cortical Mapping and Epilepsy Surgery cases.
  • Ensure proper education and application is utilized for equipment & IS/biomed support.
  • Lead team in following best practices and participates in Performance Improvement (PI) activities designed to improve patient care and/or organizational processes.
  • Facilitate Tele EEG processes and oversee data management.
  • Manage and support role development for team members and leaders.
  • Assists Manager with accountability of staff including effectively communicating standards of the department.
  • Perform and/or demonstrate proficiency in: Routine EEG, ICU monitoring, Epilepsy monitoring, Cortical mapping, identification of waveform artifact, antiepileptic medication and medication that alters the EEG, work up for epilepsy surgery and neuroanatomy.
  • Exhibits and Leads Team in Community Involvement.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET are required and must be maintained.
  • Three-year EEG Technician work experience required.
  • The requirement is to achieve a CLTM within two years of taking the position.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) requires either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA-recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.
