Aspirus New Graduate RN Apprentice Program

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our New Graduate RN Apprentice Program at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. This program is designed for new RN graduates who are unsure which patient population they wish to serve as they begin their nursing career.

Program Overview

Our New Graduate RN Apprentice Program offers a unique opportunity for new RN graduates to gain experience in multiple areas of the hospital, including Medical/Surgical and Critical Care. The program is designed to provide a supportive environment for new nurses to develop their skills and confidence in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient experience and participate in projects/programs designed to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Collect and record subjective and objective data to assess patient needs and develop holistic plans of care.
  • Plan for care through the existing episode of illness onto the next level of care to promote continuity of quality care and optimal outcomes.
  • Define and alter protocols/procedures to meet the care needs of individual patients.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this program, applicants must:

  • Be a new RN graduate with a current Wisconsin RN nursing license.
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a previous clinical instructor.
  • Have knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program.
  • Hold current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
