Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Security Department's leadership, the Medical Response Technician is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and company assets. This role requires a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times. Current EMT certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia or the National Registry is mandatory.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
(The following functions are intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities associated with this job classification and are not exhaustive.)
- Ensure security is maintained across the entire facility.
- Assist in managing emergency situations effectively.
- Administer emergency medical assistance within the scope of certification.
- Keep EMS equipment, supplies, and treatment areas sanitized and organized as per daily requirements.
- Adhere to all Gaming Commission Regulations, as well as departmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular patrols of the gaming areas to establish a visible security presence and report any unusual occurrences or suspicious individuals.
- Document all medical incidents thoroughly.
- Complete necessary checklists for inventory and inspections of medical supplies and equipment.
- Inform a Supervisor of any equipment or supply issues and note items that need replenishment.
- Restock supplies as needed and report any missing items to a Supervisor.
- Perform duties consistently while complying with all Virginia Lottery Regulations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Relevant education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.)
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in guest services, or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
- Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/certifications as per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Prior experience in the gaming industry is highly preferred.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Current CPR/AED certification is required.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must consistently exhibit a friendly, customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and company assets.
- Must remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Must be able to wear a radio earpiece without any medical restrictions.
- Willingness to manage bodily fluids and potentially hazardous situations is necessary.
- A valid Motor Vehicle License with a clean driving record is required.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Proficiency in computer applications for composing clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses/certifications in accordance with Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
ABILITY TO:
- Be available for various events with differing schedules as needed.
- Read and understand all necessary documentation, training materials, and policy information.
- Assist guests and team members who are sick or injured.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with guests and all levels of team members.
- Utilize tools and equipment such as radios, computers, and other job-specific tools.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English with guests.
- Operate within the established policies and guidelines of the company.
