Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic analysis of component system failures and water infiltration of building envelopes
  • Perform on-site observations to investigate and document building envelope conditions
  • Compile observation data and research to produce comprehensive reports of investigation
  • Attend meetings with building owners, contractors, developers, and architects to carry out field and laboratory testing
  • Develop and train other staff members on building science and engineering principles
  • Review calculations relating to new and existing buildings for windloading, load calculations, and attachment requirements
  • Participate in forensic analysis of existing buildings and develop in-house protocols for testing of in-service materials
  • Collaborate with the principal of the firm to develop field analysis practices and train field staff on ASTM E2128 and ASTM E2018 field evaluations
  • Contribute to report writing and develop report templates, particularly in the area of materials analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Professional or structural engineer license required
  • Experience in forensics and building envelope or related construction fields required
  • Willingness to travel to other US office locations
