Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Professional to join our team in San Diego, California. This role will involve defining, developing, implementing, and transitioning new technology solutions to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality.

About the Role

This position requires a background and skillset meeting at least one of the system environments within this requisition, including Linux, Windows, or VMware. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior systems engineers, admins, and architects to create, maintain, and update system documentation, install, configure, back up, retrieve, maintain, and migrate system programs and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and update system documentation.
  • Install, configure, back up, retrieve, maintain, and migrate system programs and data.
  • Work under the supervision of senior systems engineers, admins, and architects.
  • Monitor systems, validate the integrity and accessibility of all server resources, hardware, systems, and key processes.
  • Carry out hardware upgrades, performance tuning, and resource optimization whenever required.
  • Provide technical recommendations and input in subject matter area to team members and technical leadership.
  • Report status to Program Managers and IPT Management.
  • Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree with 9 years of experience or a Master of Science degree with 7 years of experience. They must also have working knowledge of at least one system engineering environment (Linux, Windows, or VMware), understand TCP/IP, LDAP, NTP, DNS, and DHCP, among others, and be able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as Security+ within 90 days.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $133,000 - $199,600 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
