POSITION SUMMARY


The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates with residents and fellow healthcare professionals to foster a secure and nurturing therapeutic atmosphere by delivering both direct and indirect patient care.

Our facilities include:

3 East: A specialized 31-bed unit dedicated to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, focusing on personalized care to address their unique needs.

Essential elements of this unit involve employing both verbal and non-verbal communication strategies, recognizing challenging behaviors often exhibited by residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia, and understanding that these behaviors can serve as valid forms of communication.

This unit provides essential care for residents requiring long-term placement in a homelike setting.

Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: Located on the second floor, this 42-bed unit offers short-term, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recovering from various conditions such as fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, strokes, and other short-term illnesses or injuries where rehabilitation may be advantageous. Nursing services frequently encompass IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.

3 West: A 42-bed long-term care unit that provides necessary support for residents needing extended placement in a comfortable environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background:
Associate's degree in Nursing or completion of a Maine State Board approved LPN program.
Must possess a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the State of Maine or a compact license.

Experience:
1-3 years of prior RN/LPN experience is preferred.

Additional Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
Strong teamwork and communication abilities are essential.
Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to cover shifts 24/7 and to float to other units as necessary.

An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the responsibilities outlined above may be considered in lieu of the stated educational and experiential requirements.
