Job Title: Production Painter

Ametek, Inc. is seeking a skilled Production Painter to join our team.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging position responsible for painting components in a production environment to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of painting processes and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and mask components for finish processing.
  • Interpret part drawings and process instructions.
  • Mix paints, reducers, and catalysts to strict specifications.
  • Select and set-up paint guns, nozzles, and other equipment to achieve high-quality results.
  • Spray undercoats and topcoats to exact thickness and gloss specifications.
  • Coordinate painting, curing, and baking cycles to maximize throughput.
  • Perform inspections, including paint film testing, Q-panel, adhesion, and water break tests.
  • Record information and data as required.
  • Able to work in a high-volume production environment.
  • Maintain paint inventory and ensure compliance with quantity and shelf-life requirements.
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframes efficiently and according to specifications.
  • Interact with engineering to provide and share information.
  • Cooperate with other employees and departments to prioritize planning and customer needs.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including required PPE.
  • Maintain established standards of quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Responsible for both individual and team success.
  • Maintain a professional persona when interacting with customers and auditors.
  • Work overtime as required by the business.
Requirements:
  • High School degree or GED Certificate and equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Mil specifications in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 requirements.
  • Driven and self-motivated, effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and apply new skills.
  • Displays good judgment in quality and safety.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
