Mechanical Tradesperson

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Journeyperson to join our team at General Motors. As a Mechanical Journeyperson, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

• Follow established safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems
• Operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, to move materials and equipment
• Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
• Determine quality of finished products by verifying dimensions, alignment, and clearances for conformance to specifications

• U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Mechanical trade or six (6) years of documented experience in a Mechanical trade
• Ability to work flexible shift hours, including day, afternoon, or night shifts, and overtime hours daily, weekend, and holidays
• Ability to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
