Job Summary:

Westwood Ridge II is seeking a skilled Health Unit Coordinator to join our team in a full-time capacity. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Transitional Care Unit (TCU).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, organize, and coordinate non-nursing clerical and administrative tasks for the TCU.
  • Facilitate the admissions process by managing clerical and administrative tasks for new admissions, including transcription of orders.
  • Act as a customer service liaison for new TCU patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Utilize electronic health records to manage patient information and coordinate care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Health Unit Coordinator education program or prior experience as a Health Unit Coordinator.
  • At least two years of experience in an acute care or Transitional Care setting.
  • Extensive experience with order transcription.
  • Previous experience working with electronic health records.

  • Ability to use basic Windows, Word, and Excel computer programs.
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
