Job Summary

Alutiiq, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a School Bus Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a school bus and ensuring the safety of student passengers and other authorized passengers while meeting established bus schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport authorized DoDEA students to and from school and other authorized related events, adhering to established routes and arrival/departure times.
  • Be attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensure student passenger safety.
  • Enforce conduct and safety rules on the bus, report any and all violations, and provide written statements as needed.
  • Render First Aid as needed.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Report delays, accidents, and emergencies, adhering to established timelines and processes.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections, including tires, brakes, turn signals, and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus, performing inspections before and after trips.
  • Communicate effectively in English.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a 'D' Endorsement.
  • Current physical examination.
  • Pass drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be CPR-AED and First Aid certified.
  • Must complete AT Level 1 Anti-terrorism training.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check consisting of local police and court offices, state criminal history repository checks, and local installation records checks.
