Client Ambassador

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Client Ambassador to join our team at the Bell Shelter, a residential housing and services facility for single adults experiencing homelessness.

The Client Ambassador is responsible for ensuring a safe, orderly, respectful, and peaceful environment for clients and guests. This role involves monitoring the shelter facility, clients, and guests, and providing customer service to ensure a positive experience.

• Monitor and maintain a safe environment inside and outside the facility
• Ensure clients understand and comply with facility rules
• Prepare written reports for incidents and maintain written records as required
• Assist with cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate individuals
• Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate individuals
• Provide basic information about the facility and programs as necessary
• Perform thorough rounds throughout each assigned shift
• Monitor client medication and supervise client social activities

• High School Graduate with 1 year work experience
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
• Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• CPR and First Aid certification a must by 14 days of the start date
• TB-cleared prior to start date

• Experience in mental health and/or addictions fields
• Basic literacy skills
• Strong sense of workplace ethics and understanding of confidentiality protocols
