Job Title: Digital I&C Engineer

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Digital I&C Engineer to join our team in the Birmingham, AL, San Luis Obispo, CA, Naperville, IL, Kennewick, WA, Chattanooga, TN, Fort Worth, TX, or Kennesaw, GA offices. This is a hybrid role after 90 days.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Digital I&C Engineer to perform complex digital I&C design engineering activities, prepare Engineering Change Packages, and participate in project meetings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms and experience in the design, installation, and testing of large-scale digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities, including preparing Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components.
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
  • Review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications.
  • Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development.
  • Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities.
  • Proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems.
  • Perform site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of I&C engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms.
  • Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large-scale digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants.
  • Types of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cybersecurity systems.
  • Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
  • Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution.
Salary Range:

The salary range for this full-time position is $78,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
