Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Travel Dialysis RN to join our team at Focus Staff. As a Travel Dialysis RN, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and healthcare professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Enforce Company Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all company-approved policies and procedures are followed, as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies and departments.
  • Maintain Shift Operations: Oversee the overall shift operation in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Act as a Resource: Serve as a resource for other staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Meet with Clinical Manager: Routinely meet with the Clinical Manager to discuss personnel and patient care status, issues, and information.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate and communicate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and coordinate care provided to the patient.
  • Provide Patient Assistance: Provide assistance as needed to patients regarding prescription refills according to FMCNA Policies.
  • Transcribe Physician Orders: Ensure that all physician orders are transcribed and entered into the Medical Information system in a timely manner.
  • Document Patient Information: Maintain facility drug list for all required stock medications.
  • Ensure Emergency Preparedness: Maintain competency with all emergency operational procedures, and initiate CPR and emergency measures in the event of a cardiac and/or respiratory arrest.
  • Verify Emergency Equipment: Ensure verification and availability of adequate emergency equipment.
  • Administer Medications: Administer medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and document appropriate medical justification if indicated.
  • Document Controlled Substances: Maintain appropriate recording of controlled substances as required by law.
  • Coordinate Patient Transportation: Assist with the coordination of patient transportation if necessary.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current State Licensure: Must have current appropriate state licensure.
  • Meet Practice Requirements: Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
  • Education and Training Qualifications: Must meet the necessary requirements of Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment.
  • Minimum of One Year Medical-Surgical Nursing Experience: Must have a minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • Hemodialysis Experience: Hemodialysis experience is preferred.
  • ICU Experience: ICU experience is preferred.
  • Experience and Skill Requirements: Must meet the experience and skill requirements as delineated for the appropriate level in the UltraCare CAP program.
  • Training in Hemodialysis: Must have successfully completed a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
  • CPR Certification: Must have successfully completed CPR Certification.
Work Experience

At least 2 years of experience is required.
