The Nursing Supervisor will primarily assist the LPN Unit Manager during the morning hours, engaging in various RN responsibilities such as admissions, patient assessments, and contributing to care planning. In the afternoon, the role transitions to overseeing the nursing operations of the facility, ensuring quality care and support for the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate activities within the assigned unit, ensuring effective staff assignments.
- Exhibit clinical proficiency in accordance with established Nursing Practice standards.
- Timely identification and response to patient needs.
- Monitor and document vital signs, treatments provided, and patient reactions.
- Administer medications and treatments as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, families, and medical staff regarding plans and concerns.
- Implement disciplinary actions as outlined in policy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and external service providers.
- Conduct RN assessments following incidents or changes in patient conditions.
- Lead and manage emergency situations, including fire and elopement protocols.
- Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing documentation, and census records.
- Current and valid RN License in the State of New York.
- Experience with geriatric, short-term rehabilitation, or Alzheimer's care is preferred.
- Progressive nursing experience with supervisory roles is advantageous.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to all residents.
- Genuine interest in assisting individuals who are ill, injured, disabled, or elderly.
- Patience and willingness to support residents and colleagues alike.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Able to thrive under pressure, demonstrate flexibility, and collaborate effectively with all staff members.
- COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated; vaccinations are offered based on CDC eligibility guidelines.
