The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to deliver professional engineering services that support the design, acquisition, construction, operation, and lifecycle maintenance of facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will:
- Oversee and coordinate significant facility enhancements, renovations, and the construction of new structures.
- Engage in all aspects of facilities lifecycle management.
- Provide expert advice to leadership regarding facility management and strategies to mitigate negative environmental impacts.
This role is integral to the Intelligence Community Campus Fort Belvoir North Area (ICC-FBNA) Joint Program Management Office (JPMO) / Campus Manager Office (CMO). The engineer will represent the interests of the Agency and the ICC-FBNA in various meetings within the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Collaboration and CommunicationThe position requires close collaboration with campus partners and external local/regional government entities, necessitating effective communication skills and a positive attitude in a joint environment.
Position DutiesThe Facilities Engineer will:
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering initiatives to develop and implement projects while maintaining joint campus operations.
- Support campus master planning and integration efforts.
- Encourage a collaborative atmosphere to uphold campus charter principles.
- Maintain supportive relationships with local government and military installations.
- Manage complex challenges that arise within the campus and among partners.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on facilities engineering requirements.
- Act as Deputy Program Manager and lead working groups focused on campus initiatives.
Applicants must possess a degree in Engineering and demonstrate experience in:
- Utilizing critical thinking to resolve project-related issues.
- Fostering collaboration among multiple stakeholders.
- Managing engineering and facilities operations programs.
The role involves moderate lifting, climbing, and exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and potential hazards associated with construction and maintenance activities.
