About the Role

Kettering Health Network is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in direct patient care by selecting, setting up, and passing sterile instruments to the surgeon and assistants.
  • Label and handle patient specimens appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment free from clutter.
  • Respond to emergency situations and demonstrate safe infection control practices.
  • Assist the nurse/physician with patient procedures and participate in preceptor activities as requested.
  • Prepare OR tables and scrubs for surgeries, and provide necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
  • Acquire and demonstrate skills needed to operate specialized equipment used in the OR.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from a NBSTA accredited program or certification from NCCT.
  • Four (4) years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma, or four (4) years applicable on-the-job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist required within one year of hire, if hired without certification.
Qualifications
  • Surgical Technology skills required, preferably in a hospital operating room environment.
  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
