Sigma Design is a leading provider of high-quality components for various industries, including mining, steel mills, power generation, cement, pulp, and paper. As a Senior Machinist in our heavy industry fabrication department, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precise components.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up parts on multiple machining centers, including horizontal mills, vertical mills, vertical boring mills, and other equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to execute precise machining operations.
- Utilize industry-standard measuring and inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy.
- Deburr and inspect completed components to confirm quality and adherence to specifications before shipment to customers.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a CNC machinist in a job shop or similar environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring and inspection tools to verify component accuracy.
- Experience handling large components is preferred, though crane safety training will be provided.

- Two weeks of vacation, five Oregon sick days, and four personal days (prorated upon hire).
- $33-$43 per hour.
A standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. You must wear appropriate safety garments (PPE) and be able to stand and work for up to 12 hours in different positions, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
