Oula, a pioneer in maternity care, is seeking a seasoned OB/GYN Laborist to join our collaborative team. With a strong focus on low-intervention birth and evidence-based practices, our organization delivers better outcomes for patients. This full-time position involves participating in inpatient care with our midwifery team at Mount Sinai West. As an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, you will provide direct patient care, co-manage complex labor cases, and ensure seamless collaboration with our midwives and nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 14 hours of in-house coverage per month on the MSW Labor & Delivery floor.
  • Cover Oula's first-call shifts as needed in staffing shortages or emergency situations.
  • Round on, care for, and discharge Oula postpartum patients following operative deliveries or higher-risk care coordination.
  • Round on, care for, and discharge Oula patients readmitted to the hospital.
  • Round on, care for, and discharge Oula patients on the antepartum service as needed.
About You
  • Possess passion for maximizing low-intervention birth and centering evidence-based practices in obstetrics.
  • Be enthusiastic about participating in a collaborative care program dedicated to improving the quality of maternity care.
  • Dedicated to ensuring clear, timely, complete cross-functional and interpersonal communication.
  • Experience in overseeing and collaborating with midwives.
  • Exude empathy and compassion for patients and team members.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Residency in obstetrics/gynecology.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in obstetrics following residency/fellowship, preferably with a focus on obstetrics.
  • Experience building and/or managing clinical programs.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in New York State.
Benefits
  • This is a full-time, temporary contract position with a base annual salary range of $285,000-$310,000.
