Job Description

Job Summary

A Fabrication Equipment Specialist runs computer-controlled machines that bend, form and shape various materials according to blueprints and specifications. Their main duties include troubleshooting machines for any malfunctions or irregularities, fixing machine parts as needed to ensure they operate properly and conducting quality checks on the machines.

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Equipment Specialist to operate industrial machinery, read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings, and perform quality inspections using tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Maintain activity logs

Requirements:

  • Experience operating press brake machines or similar equipment
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of machining processes such as lathe, laser cutting, and plasma cutting
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is a plus
  • Ability to perform quality inspections using tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) principles

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
