Job Overview

Position: Electrician

The University of Mary is actively seeking skilled candidates for the role of Electrician. This position requires a registered apprentice electrician who will primarily focus on the installation and upkeep of electrical systems, as well as managing internal electrical projects. The ideal applicant will possess experience in the installation of commercial electrical systems.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute installation of electrical projects, which includes all necessary materials for high voltage, low voltage, HVAC/controls, and other electrical requirements.
  • Program and maintain electrical systems, including but not limited to access control, HVAC controls, surveillance systems, and lighting controls.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks to support campus repairs and community needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet community requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Completion of 3 full years of apprenticeship or 2 full years of apprenticeship along with a trade school degree is required for North Dakota Apprentice Electrician.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a North Dakota Journeyman electrician license.
  • Uphold and support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
  • Contribute to the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
  • Foster a culture of genuine hospitality within the Office of Physical Plant and across the university, in alignment with Saint Benedict's principle of welcoming all as Christ.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in bending and installing conduit systems.
  • Ability to pull and terminate low voltage conductors (less than 50V).
  • Capability to pull and terminate conductors ranging from 51V to 480V.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical components and equipment, including installation and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial electrical project installations.
  • Proven experience in systems installation and controls.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety standards.
