About the Role:

Pachama is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to collaborate with our CEO in shaping the company's financial strategy and driving growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in high-growth tech startups and a proven track record of leading fundraising efforts, managing investor relations, and executing capital markets strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO to develop and execute the company's financial strategy, including capital formation and allocation, short and long-term financial planning, analysis, and execution.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, manage investor relations, and handle capital markets strategies, including fund formation, project finance, and strategic partnerships with capital managers.
  • Oversee strategic financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and general cash flow management and reporting.
  • Build and manage high-performing teams to execute on key areas under management.
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify opportunities and risks, and recommend strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with executives across the organization to develop strategic plans and provide analytical support on key projects.
  • Lead financial reporting, treasury, tax, and audit functions across multiple entities.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and policies are in place to support scalability and operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience leading finance at venture-backed, post-series B technology startups, encompassing FP&A, Strategic Finance, Capital Markets, Legal, HR, etc.
  • Experience in financial institutions such as investment banks, venture, or private equity, where insight into capital markets was gained.
  • Experience with investor relations and communicating with a board of directors.
  • Demonstrated success in raising various forms of capital, including equity, debt, project finance, tax credits, and grants.
  • Clear strategic thinking and experience designing and refining strong business models.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success hiring, recruiting, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience scaling companies with effective standard procedures, while fostering a positive culture for innovation.
  • Experience managing international operations and multiple subsidiaries.
  • Experience on carbon markets, climate tech, or sustainability a plus.
  • Passion for climate action and nature conservation.
