Fawkes IDM is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property team.
Job Summary
We are looking for a talented individual to work with our Patent Attorneys in securing patents by preparing, filing, and prosecuting applications involving new inventions with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the patentability of innovations and invention disclosures.
- Prepare, draft, and file patent applications.
- Draft responses to domestic and foreign Office Actions.
- Perform research and analysis and provide guidance on patent and Intellectual Property related issues.
- Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
- Prepare draft amendments to patent claims, specifications, and abstracts.
- Assist patent attorneys with the global prosecution of complex patent families.
Requirements
- Experience in writing original patent applications and prosecuting pending applications.
- 3+ years of extensive work experience in electrical/mechanical/computer technologies patent prosecution.
- A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical experience.
- Candidates currently licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as an agent are preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates with extensive experience planning to take the Bar.
- Familiarity with Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) practice is a plus.
