Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Culinary Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to young people in our care.
The job requires compliance with all relevant sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and the following of established food production procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook high-quality meals under established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Menu Planning: Plan menus that accommodate varying dietary restrictions and residents' preferences.
- Food Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in all food preparation and serving areas.
- Inventory Management: Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining environment.
- Serving Meals: Assist in serving meals to youth and provide a supportive, positive dining experience.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with residential staff to incorporate nutrition education and cooking activities as part of the daily routine.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to food service and youth supervision.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in food service, including cooking and meal preparation. Knowledge of DPI Instruction nutrition, food safety regulations, and dietary guidelines for youth is required.
You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills. Practical communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.
You must be able to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks. Additionally, candidates must be at least 21 and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Salary InformationThe annual salary for this position is estimated to be between $17,000 and $17,000 per year.
