As a Physical Therapist in our inpatient department, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and educate patients and families on optimal functional abilities.

The ideal candidate for this role is a compassionate and skilled physical therapist who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. You should possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be proficient in using computer software programs necessary for department functions. Additionally, you must hold a current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy and a graduate degree from an accredited program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate patients based on established departmental standards to determine the most effective treatment plan.
  2. Conduct and modify evaluations as needed to ensure individualized goals are met, taking into account patient symptoms, activity level, and medical status.
  3. Administer appropriate therapeutic exercises to improve strength, endurance, coordination, and range of motion, and utilize modalities and manual techniques to relieve pain and achieve established goals.
  4. Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and functional activities to maximize independent functioning.
  5. Determine when patients have achieved maximum benefit from treatment and recommend discharge as necessary.
  6. Document patient information in accordance with insurance guidelines and adhere to department policies and procedures.
  7. Foster interdepartmental communication and collaborate with referring physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
