Work Atmosphere:

Supporting children in their growth, learning, and skill acquisition is incredibly fulfilling. Our Educators are tasked with designing and executing childcare programs for young learners. They must prioritize the development and safety of these children in alignment with Steeplechase Academy's standards and the regulations set forth by the State of Missouri's Department of Education. Educators are expected to treat children and parents with respect while ensuring that facilities and equipment are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Inadequate service provision can jeopardize children's well-being.

Steeplechase Academy provides comprehensive benefits for our full-time staff, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, childcare discounts, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Compensation:

$16 - $22 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement activities that cater to the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of children
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules
  • Facilitate activities that promote curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving tailored to each child's developmental stage
  • Engage in reading sessions with children
  • Maintain emergency procedures at all times
  • Create a dynamic and enjoyable classroom environment
  • Ensure constant supervision of children across all areas of the facility (including restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and playground)
  • Interact with children at their level consistently
  • Communication: Keeping parents informed about program expectations, activities, and their child's progress is crucial for our program's success. You must be able to listen to parents and maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with them. Positive communication with colleagues and management is also expected.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Teaching or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an educational environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to pass a mandatory background check
  • Annual professional development is required
