The University of New Mexico - Hospitals has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surg department. This is a 0.90 FTE, full-time position with a Days shift schedule.
About the JobIn this role, you will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, serving as a clinical leader and assuming relief charge duties when designated.
Responsibilities- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Ensure proper consent has been obtained before assisting with special tests and procedures.
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations they don't understand or may not seem right.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- No minimum experience required.
- A nationally accredited nursing graduate degree.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or a reciprocal agreement state.
