Nurse Practitioner Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in an Orthopedics Surgery and Urgent Care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Admit patients into the Orthopedics Surgery and Urgent Care programs
  • Perform history and physicals for all new patients admitted into the programs
  • Diagnose conditions and plan appropriate care plans
  • Conduct patient clinics independently and in support of the programs
  • Prescribe and order diagnostic tests, medications, and interventional procedures
  • Refer patients for surgical consultation when necessary
  • Prescribe and refer to ancillary services, including physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, and more
  • Provide education to patients about diagnosis, treatment options, and preventative care
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the practice
  • Lead and guide support staff, including medical assistants, billers, collectors, and front office staff

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current APRN license in the state of Georgia
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
