Caton Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead a crew in safely and efficiently performing construction activities on our roadway project in Virginia.

Job Summary

The Pipe Foreman is a field position responsible for organizing and leading a crew to coordinate construction work according to priorities and plans. The Foreman works under the general direction of the Superintendent and must be an experienced heavy equipment operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans
  • Plan, organize and lead grading crew
  • Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Allocating general and daily responsibilities
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Schedule aggregate material quantities and deliveries
  • Determine trucking needs and schedule truck
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
  • Ensure labor and other resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with normal days and hours of work being Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch. However, work may be local or out of town, requiring overnight stays. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Proven experience as a construction foreman is essential, with a diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) being a plus.
