Education:
Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or advanced field training preferred.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience designing for large automated systems from initial concept through installation and customer buy off.

Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, machine/motion control systems, VFD/Drive control systems, and electro-mechanical systems.

Experience with PLC programming, ideally Siemens or Allen Bradley.

Proficient with EPLAN for creating electrical drawings.

Exposure to assembling and commissioning large motion-controlled systems and building panels.

Excellent documentation practices to record how to improve the project/processes going forward.

Detail oriented and able to manage several projects in parallel.

Knowledge and compliance of NEC, NFPA 79 and UL electrical standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Act as an expert resource to the electrical and controls engineering team.

Mentor and train junior team members to advance their knowledge.

Provide electrical and controls engineering input for design of new equipment & system introductions.

Influence strategic planning to contribute to the success of technical projects.

Generate and maintain electrical BOMs.

Generate panel layout for new automated systems.


Develop full electrical drawing set in EPLAN and maintain current electrical engineering standards/libraries/databases for re-use sections of the drawings for future projects.

Assist Sales team with electrical engineering expertise for potential new products/projects.

Verifying NEC code compliance.

Communicate directly with design team, procurement & production, and German colleagues.
