Job Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and support to expectant mothers and their families. This role requires a high level of expertise and professionalism, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to expectant mothers and their families, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address any identified concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in labor and delivery care.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D) nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
