About the Role

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in an outpatient setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Physical Therapy Interventions: Work closely with our Physical Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and support.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and transparent communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Document Patient Progress: Accurately and thoroughly document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in our electronic medical record system.
  • Develop Home Exercise Programs: Design and implement home exercise programs to support patients in achieving their treatment goals and promoting independence.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Science from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting, with a strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.
  • Licensure: Current New York State license as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development, including mandatory safety in-services and Healthstream e-Learning courses.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing work volumes.
