Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate or 2 years of aviation maintenance experience.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Position Purpose:
The Aircraft Technician I, under close supervision, is responsible for performing or assisting with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of fundamental aircraft systems and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively to understand work assignments.
- Conduct basic aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications under supervision.
- Assist in the movement of aircraft as necessary.
- Complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other documentation promptly.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and tag customer property and equipment, ensuring secure storage.
- Follow standard operating procedures when using ground support equipment.
- Protect all customer property appropriately.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to work orders.
- Properly collect and dispose of waste materials.
- Implement 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain cleanliness in work areas.
- Use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment responsibly.
- Comply with safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
- May participate in flight tests as required for aircraft certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations and company policies.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
