Job Summary

Stryker DES is seeking a qualified Asbestos Abatement Laborer to join our team in Niagara Falls, NY. As a key member of our environmental remediation team, you will be responsible for safely removing asbestos-containing materials from various sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform asbestos removal work in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure safe and efficient removal of hazardous materials.
  • Operate various tools and equipment for demolition and abatement work.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to prevent exposure to asbestos and other hazardous materials.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in asbestos abatement and environmental remediation.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in asbestos removal and abatement work.
  • Successful completion of an EPA AHERA-approved 32-hour Asbestos Worker training course.
  • Ability to work in personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to obtain medical clearance to wear a respirator for asbestos work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Asbestos abatement worker license in NY, TN, PA, NJ, WI, LA, IL, KY, MD, SC, VA, WV, OH.
  • Experience in large industrial demolition projects.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training and 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
