6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector is accountable for conducting and documenting visual assessments of component-level and/or final assembly products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct moderate product evaluations with the necessary documentation to verify actual outcomes against specifications and drawings with minimal oversight.
  • Prepare formal first article inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Confirm supplier approval status and certifications for accuracy and completeness against specifications and drawings.
  • Ensure that finished products comply with drawing specifications, particularly in relation to unfinished products (e.g., dimensional and visual checks of machined areas).
  • Understand and adhere to internal company protocols.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Utilize a variety of inspection tools effectively, including but not limited to micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and optical instruments.
  • Employ quality-related software and ERP systems to accurately document job results based on completed inspections.
  • Meet job deadlines while upholding the integrity of the inspection process.
  • Properly maintain and handle inspection instruments and equipment for various product evaluations.
  • Review Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Obtain customer source delegation as necessary.
  • Identify and document opportunities for lean process improvements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 6-12 months of relevant experience or training.

Language Proficiency

  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in small group settings.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and read decimals to the millionth of an inch.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer and Office Skills

  • Proficient in database management.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and internet browsers.
  • Experience with ERP/Inventory systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Typing skills.
  • Blueprint reading capabilities.
  • Understanding of GD&T terminology and symbols.
  • Familiarity with raw materials.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection of machined components.
