Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to lead our engineering team in the development of complex systems for defense aviation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting solutions from user requirements to system engineering lifecycle, supporting design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts, and developing systems in a modeling environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect solutions from user requirements and use cases to be applied across a system engineering lifecycle
  • Support the design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts
  • Develop systems in a modeling environment
  • Use requirements management tools, including IBM DOORS NG or Jama Connect, and MBSE tools, including MagicDraw and Cameo, IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx EA
  • Define a digital engineering ecosystem, including the underlying infrastructure, tool selection, process development, and utilization
  • Apply Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team environment to increase the use of MBSE for client acquisitions programs
  • Perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of product design development and reviews
  • Identify and manage technical risks, develop technical reports, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommended solutions
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering
  • 4+ years of experience supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts
  • 2+ years of experience developing systems in a modeling environment
  • 2+ years of experience using requirements management tools and MBSE tools
  • Experience with defining a digital engineering ecosystem
  • Knowledge of core systems and digital engineering concepts
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with conceptualizing military problems, decomposing high-level missions systems modeling, and developing detailed designs in a systems model
  • Experience with developing safety critical applications based on standards
  • Experience with leading a team for development of technical specifications, interface control documents, and integration and test plans and schedules
  • Experience with supporting engineering tools, including PLM/PDM, digital engineering, modeling and simulation, and CAD
  • Experience with using modeling frameworks DoDAF or UAF
  • Knowledge of linking analytical and engineering tools in a digital thread
  • Knowledge of modular open systems approach (MOSA) design principles and technologies
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP
  • OMG Certified Systems Modelling Professional (OCSMP) Certification
